This idea of Rockwell's for a Post cover was ultimately not used. In this well-documented case, it was decided that it was unclear that the subject of the image was sound, a notoriously difficult idea for an illustrator to get across.

Condition - Very good: not varnished; matted and framed.

We also reproduce a photo of a charcoal drawing of this subject, showing Rockwell's process of rearranging various elements to improve the composition.
