I reread the RFP “call for proposals” information sheet for
the new fire station. Apparently they are considering an artwork for a wall
above some double doors as well. So, I redesigned my monkey sculpture to be a
bas-relief. The Mrs still thinks it would be an inappropriate memorial.
Public Art Commissions: An Artist Handbook is a publication of the North Carolina Arts Council and is a good resource
if you’re interested in pursuing your own public art commission.
