Canadian Fur Trapper

This illustration depicts a French Canadian Trapper from the 1850’s -1860’s. He is sporting a capote jacket made from a Hudson Bay trade blanket and is followed by his Indian Dog pulling a travois.
Information for this illustration was obtained from the art work of two contemporary artists of the time: Cornelius Krieghoff and Rudolf Friedrich Kurz.
