I thought that I should study the
skull some more if I am going to do some portrait sculpture. The above drawings
are charcoal on smooth 18”x 24” newsprint.
Sculpture students in the French
academies in the 18th century were required to be able to model a
skull from memory.
I however used reference material
for help in sculpting the ceramic head study below.
