Story Illustration - c.1920
The purpose of this blog was to force me to do a drawing a day. However, it is other artist’s drawings I seem to display.

Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coin
Garret's submission for the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Obverse Design
Competition
Hello,
I want to thank you again for your participation in our
Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Obverse Design
Competition. The jury has completed their evaluations and the Secretary of the
Treasury has approved the final obverse design. We were very impressed with the
caliber of all of the submitted designs and the work that went into developing
an obverse for these very special curved coins. The competition was quite
strong, and unfortunately, your design was not ultimately selected for the
program.
The winning obverse design will be unveiled in 2018 in
coordination with the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, the Astronaut
Scholarship Foundation, and the Astronauts Memorial Foundation.
We highly encourage you to enter any future competitions
hosted by the United States Mint. We will be sure to email you regarding our
next competition, and you can always remain up-to-date on all current
competitions by visiting www.usmint.gov/competition.
Best wishes,
